18th Annual Mariachi and Folklorico Festival

The 18th Annual Mariachi and Folklorico Festival will once again delight audiences with the music and traditional dances of Mexico featuring dynamic folkloric dancers and outstanding and popular Mariachi groups! This year’s annual event features Mariachi Garibaldi de Jaime Cuellar. Joining them is Mariachi Sonido de Mexico from Tucson, AZ, Mariachi Juvenil de Mi Tierra a local youth group and dancers from Ballet Folklorico Quetzalli-AZ, Tradiciones Dance Company, Ballet Folklorico Primavera, Institute of Folklorico Mexicano and Rascapetatiando Dance Company. - See more at:

The City of Santa Monica presents its fifth annual Día de los Muertos event celebrating the cycle of life at Woodlawn Cemetery on Sunday, October 30 from 12-4pm. The event includes traditions that are part of this ceremony both in Mexico and in the United States and features an opening procession and ceremonial blessing, music and dance performances, craft workshops and food trucks.

Amor Eterno:un Homenaje a Juan Gabriel

Join us in celebrating the life of Mexican singer Juan Gabriel during LA Plaza's annual Día de los Muertos altar tribute! This event will honor the late singer's music with an altar installation and free concert featuring appearances by musical artist Angeles Ochoa, Stephanie Amaro, Mariachi Garibaldi, Julian Torres, Blue Agave and Ballet Folklorico de Los Angeles.

Altar installation by Andrea Ramirez and members of the Ni Santas Collective, a group that strives to build leadership among women of color through art.

Returning to Ford Theatres, Boyle Heights staple Eastside Luv will present classic Mexican, American and European hits with a contemporary twist, featuring Mariachicanos de Los Angeles, a group of LA-based Mexican American mariachi all-stars brought together by producer Guillermo Uribe. Sharing a love for traditional Mexican music as well as American and European rock and pop, the Mariachicanos will perform a lively set of mariachi versions of favorite rock hits. Other performances include traditional mariachi songs by Mariachi Garibaldi de Jaime Cuéllar and a mix of traditional and modern dancing by Ballet Folklórico de Los Angeles.
